Woodrow Kroll: Life comes to us through the graciousness of God. It shouldn't be taken for granted because there are too many ways that life can be ended and terminated. Psalm 6 says:

"O LORD, don't rebuke me in your anger
or discipline me in your rage.
Have compassion on me, LORD, for I am weak . . .
Save me because of your unfailing love.
For the dead do not remember you.
Who can praise you from the grave?" (Psalm 6:1-6, NLT).

The opportunity, in this life, to give thanks to God exists only as long as we have life. So, I'm prompted by God's Word to be thankful just for the gift of life.
